Assignment | Reflecting on Our Spirituality
October 2, 2024 8:20 PM
1. Who Am I?
Taking it a step deeper, what if it is true that who we are is something we could never fully articulate in words? What if who we are is constantly changing? What would it mean to show up for myself, for my community, and for the world in the uniqueness I bring?
2. Who Are You?
Think of a person you are close with and write who is this person. Notice how your response may have complexities or other dimensions to it, and allow yourself to listen deeply to who the mystery of this person may be. Who is the you that is divine? Who is the you that is my friend? Who is the you that is my stranger? Who is the you that is my enemy? Take some time to think of a person you are close with and write who is this person?
3. Who Are We?
What does it mean to live in this world together? What does it mean to choose ways of living and being that do not only promote the interests if one person or group at the expense of another? What does it mean that our spiritual identity cannot be reduced to any one experience? How can we give ourselves to the spiritual work of co-creating life together?
4. What Bonds Us Together and Honors Our Uniqueness?
What is that mystery that allows for us all to be held in harmony yet respects our own uniqueness? What is that presence that never imposes itself but is always available to meet us and give itself to us as the very breath and heartbeat of our own existence? What would it mean to become more intimate with that mystery? Take some time to reflect and write about your own questions of our interdependence with all of life and what wisdom this reveals to you.
Please share your reflections with the community in the course forum.
