Reflect on the course video and corresponding timeline, then answer the question: "How has the emergence of digital technologies opened the doors to many new design disciplines concerned with non-tangible objects, and what does this say about the shift in design consciousness it is bringing about?"

The emergence of digital technologies brings a new experience to humans - that of rapid reception of information, content, ideas, image and so forth that no other population of humans has ever experienced. These new experiences of human generated content that is non-tangible has created space and need for humans to consider how to design these new experiences. Social media platforms, websites, and other non-literal-locations draw people to experience content in electronic spaces that require design. Questions like, how do we draw a person into and through a virtual space in a way that allows them to experience the content, and not the navigation, as primary, are emerging as specific and important design problems. While design was once considered to be a consideration of things that existed, or were to exist in the physical realm, it is now also significantly invested toward the design of non-tangible artifacts of the human imagination.
I would venture to say that the technological advancements in design have allowed for more collaboration with a variety old diverse individuals in multiple fields. The advancements have allowed for more diverse and open communication with those that may not be in the same room or building as yourself. An example of this is this class. We have members of the class not just in Berkley, California but all over the country and even the world. This allows all of us wherever our physical location to collaborate together on projects.
