The Online Cafe Nov 19 at 5:10 pm PST: Chair Yoga with Manny
November 17, 2024 10:40 PM

Coming Up
Let us move and sweat our prayers with chair yoga. Join us in a spectrum of movement and stillness in a friendly sequence for all body types this Tuesday, Nov 19, at 5:10 PST. We will listen to our bodies and move with our breath. Please use a steady chair for control while moving pose to pose, and have some water and a towel handy. Staff and faculty are welcome to attend.
Here is one resource to practice chair yoga beyond the Online Cafe.

Previous Online Cafe
While sharing our thrive numbers, attendees reflected on the following questions:
1] What elements have you integrated from your front porch experience with Dr. Phyllis and our PSR community?
2] How are intentional slowness, connection, centering, exploration, and sacred pauses included in your day-to-day movements?
Some mentioned the tactile relationships with our senses with arts and crafts, music, the scent of aroma therapy, and our breath, and that a coloring book is like a mental massage. We reflected on this passage from Barbara Murray’s reading at last week’s Chapel. “Anzaldua talks about the Snake, a symbol of awakening consciousness. As it grows, the Snake can shed its skin when it no longer fits. Leaving the old skin behind, the Snake slithers off with newer, brighter colors and life. I feel like I am in that place. Many of my old suppositions and answers no longer fit. I want to shed them off and move forward with courage.” Courage, transformation, and different perspectives led us to Ursula Le Guin’s book The Left Hand of Darkness, which centers on a nonbinary narrative.
See you at the Online Cafe!
